Insights to what I witnessed

Theater is a form of art that enables the artists to defy their masterpieces through human reach of creativity and ability wherein everything is live. There is the need in exaggerating the movements and speech-volume increase for them to be able to be watched by the last person far from the stage they are performing.

Organizing such is not little thing, it’s indeed a big thing. Advertising from school to school or even street to street for them to have their audience and showcase the art they have prepared.

As always, the sounds or the audios failed me, I think not only but of many viewers as I observed. In this case, the interests of the viewer vanished along the play and will wait until the play ended. Only few words were understandable and this few is consist mostly of unsubstantial words that still do not help the viewer’s comprehension. I suggest that the production should always check and always anticipate this dilemma. It is not only for the viewer’s good but of also the production’s improvement.

Good blockings and spacing. It is also important to have this in theatre play for this determines the spacing, the contact of characters to one another as they throw lines to each other. The play performed at most time, observed tight spacing making the casts to minimize their movements which then would affect the visual part of the play.

Since there were insufficient spaces provided at times, as I said the movements were minimized making the audience be unclear on what the character was trying to act.

The production made a good job on its backdrop. I appreciate the backdrop very much for it was very supple that it could transform into different setting but still maintaining its beauty and elegance. I think it transformed into 3-4 settings.

Royalty and elegance were seen in every costume used. It implied the differences between characters themselves. The colors were very catchy and easy to be remembered especially on the lead that used yellow/gold and blue plus white which made us, the audience, to easily identify the character.

Humor. It is the escape of the play in the monotony plane. The humor helped the audience to get back watching the play. It adopted the Pinoy setting thatmade the audience be connected to scene again.

Storyline. The backbone of the theatre play. Since the audio failed and unable to fed us their lines, (good strategy of them) a classmate bought a quite summary of the play which I think substantial enough for the viewer’s to cope up with the stories.

I maybe rude, but every word in here reflects my critic honesty. I am a lover of theatre and also experienced such technicalities. This then concluded me that professionals also have a problem on some of their point as what amateur are.
